The 5-star Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong was built as part of the 2005 Landmark International Finance Centre development. As Associate Director working at KCA International, Martin Farrow worked to create a unique design for the guestrooms and suites on the executive floors. He worked closely with the project's main contractor and was based in the site office in Hong Kong for several months to oversee the concepts and rollout of design development. Initially commissioned for only two of the building's floors, the owner was sufficiently impressed with the mockup room and extended the scheme to a further 14 floors.
The design of the rooms is a blend of beautifully built-in furniture and case goods with slick finishes that fuse gently with the soft colour schemes for the furnishings, comprising of calm natural hues with accents of oriental reds and gold. The mix of dark and light woods and feature artwork panels over the bed contrast subtly with the harbour backdrop. Rooms bathrooms are an elegant feature wall of limestone and concealed lighting that runs over the bath and into the shower. These features combine to bring an exotic blend of contemporary and traditional Asian styles for a world-class hotel experience.
